Our mission is to reduce the burden of neuroinfectious diseases and neurological complications of HIV through interdisciplinary, patient-centered research in San Francisco and beyond.
We collaborate with diverse partners who share our goal of addressing neurologic health inequities worldwide through locally-led, sustainable research and training. Our current work focuses on: (1) cerebrovascular complications of HIV infection, the burden of which is on the rise as people living with HIV reach older age, and (2) improving neurologic and functional outcomes in persons with neurotuberculosis.
