The EPIC neuro sub-study: Stress and stroke risk in persons living with HIV
This is an observational study of the effects of the neural and inflammatory response to psychological stress on cerebrovascular risk in persons living with HIV. Participants involved in the EPIC study (PI: Priscilla Hsue), a study investigating the effect of a cholesterol-lowering medication on cardiovascular risk in PWH, are invited to take part in this neurologic sub-study. Located in San Francisco, this study involves neuropsychological testing, psychological stress assessments, brain PET imaging, and brain vessel wall imaging.
